AK Artisan Center Blog
So yes...we now have a blog...it my not be updated every day but I will be posting things on a regular basis so check back frequently to see if there is anything that might interest you :)

17May2011- Today I decided to revise the website and update anything necessary.  In doing this I informed everyone that I can no longer financially keep the Center "open", so it will need to remain "online" at this point in time.  I am working on gaining as much information as possible to try to see what free fundraising there is out there and how to best advertise for our needs.
I also would like to share that I have come across a wonderful opportunity to teach that I think will very well open doors and ideas of future classes.  I was able to make an agreement with Green Valley School (a Montessori school) to teach art classes in lieu of tuition for my eldest child to attend.  In going through the process of finding the school and such, it came to my attention that there may be many other Montessori schools without Art programs as well as Home School Groups who may need Art teachers, so in speaking with some mothers who homeschool, it appears that many homeschoolers will get together in groups to hold specific extra curricular activities that they cannot do individually in their home environments. Many times, they will find a place to rent or meet in order to hold these classes...the Center would have been a perfect solution for these situations.  I would like to send letters to these Home School Groups to offer my services as an Art Teacher for the AK Artisan Center and provide the place and materials for these groups to have Art Classes.  It should be fairly easy to find a rental space for a day or a couple hours and have it cost an amount that I can afford on my personal budget, and hopefully this will bring in Donations from the Home School Groups or the parents and friends of the families attending.  Any feedback on this idea would be greatly appreciated!  -aimee
